Go out of one's way

 

1. 뜻

- if you go out of your way to do something, for example to help someone,

  you make a special effort to do it 

- to try very hard to do something, especially for someone else

 (누군가를 위해 특별히 희생하여, 노력하여) 애를 쓰다.

Go the extra mile
- to make more effort than is expected of you
(예문) He's a nice guy, always ready to go the extra mile for his friends. 
           그는 친절해서 항상 친구들을 위해 노력할 준비가 되어있다. 
           She always goes the extra mile. 
           그녀는 (한 수 더 해줘서) 항상 기대 이상으로 일을 한다.

Go out of one's way 
 - to make a special effort to do something 
(예문) She always goes out her way. 
          그녀는 (본인이 불편해도 감수하여) 항상 애를 써준다. 

 

2. 예문 

1)  He was very kind to me and seemed to go out of his way to help me.

      그는 나에게 매우 친절했고 나를 위해 항상 애를 써주는 것 같았다. 

 

2) You don't have to go out of your way to pick me up from the airport, 

    I can take a taxi to the hotel. 

       당신은 나를 데리러 공항에 굳이 애써서 올 필요 없습니다. 저는 호텔에 택시 타고 갈 수 있어요.
