Jump to conclusion 

 

1. 뜻

- to form an opinion about something before you have all the facts

- if you jump to conclusions, you decide something is true, or make a judgement about something,

  before having enough information to be sure you're right

 성급한/성급히 결론을 내리다.

 

2. 예문 

1) When Tom and Madonna were seen together,

     people jumped to conclusions and thought they were dating.

     톰과 마돈나가 함께 있는 모습을 보았을 때 사람들은 성급하게 결론을 내리고 그들이 데이트 중이라고 생각했다. 

 

2) We don't really know what's going on. We shouldn't jump to conclusions.

     우리는 무슨 일이 일어나고 있는지 정말 모른다. 성급히 결론을 내려서 안된다.
